Steeped in history - our tour of the convent was fascinating. The outdoor pool is lovely and hot with stunning views across the valley. Lovely traditional touches throughout. A real sense of peace.

Convento is an interesting property to say the least. The stay itself is really great and you can feel the history as soon as you see it, not to mention step in it. However then start the issues. 1. The staff seems to be new to the whole idea of working in a hotel like environment. 2. The prices and offer of beverages, food is non existant so you are left up with a surprise bill at the end of the stay. Needless to say the prices are heavily exagerated for them being sub-par in quality. Example 2 hot chocolates were 15 euros. 3. We booked a room with a jacuzzi, which leaked so we couldnt use it, as we didnt want to flood the room. Did it get fixed? No Did we get a discount considering our room was not what we paid for? Of course not 4. Considering that you are in a remote place, a very very small town Convento San Bartolomeo should offer food, snacks or anything to eat since the dinner is from 8pm so good luck eating between breakfast and dinner. 5. The breakfast is sub par if you are a person that doesnt eat pork, I understand that Italians eat pork en masse but a hotel or a business in the tourism area should be aware that people that dont eat pork also exist. 6. All in all the hotel has a nice perspective, but it needs some people knowledgable in the tourism industry to be in charge to really get it to shine. 7. One really great thing I will mention tho is the outside heated pool.

This place was a dream. From the staff, to the room and the hotel grounds and history, we loved every single bit of it. We stayed 5 nights and everything was exceptional. Pool was the best part and water was like a warm bath. Also amazing places to sit around the hotel, chill and just read a book. Quiet and far from city noises. Perfect relaxation location.

From the moment I stepped in, I couldn’t stop saying “Wow!”—what an amazing place! Staying in a monastery with incredibly thick walls was a first-time experience for me. We were given a spacious suite with classic and elegant furniture. The wooden doors and windows, along with their vintage opening mechanisms, made me feel like I had traveled back in time while sitting in the cozy armchair. The staff was very friendly. Although the one who welcomed us didn’t speak English, he was kind and patient, using a translator to communicate and even helping us book a fantastic nearby restaurant. Breakfast was great—you choose your meal the day before, and everything is fresh, delicious, and plentiful. The monastery itself has beautiful scenery, perfect for a relaxing morning walk. My only regret is staying just one night—I’ll definitely be back!
