The fine print
Please note compulsory conservation levies per person per night are applicable and excluded from the rates. A gate entrance fee charged per vehicle is applicable and payable upon entrance to the reserve. Please contact the property directly for further information.Scheduled daily flights between OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) and Hoedspruit / Eastgate Airport take approximately 50 minutes, followed by a 50 minute road transfer to the lodge. Scheduled flights between Cape Town (6 times a week) and Hoedspruit take approximately 2 ½ hours, followed by a 50 minute road transfer to the lodge. Transfers can be arranged from Hoedspruit/Eastgate Airport to the lodge at an additional fee.Guests choosing to drive from OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) to the lodge are to make their own transfer arrangements – average travel time is 6/7 hours.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

We stayed for a couple nights of our honeymoon and the staff and hospitality were unmatched. They went out of their way to make it special for us - with flowers on the bed, wine in our room, private table at dinner, safari drives on our own - all without us even asking! Saw so many animals in the lodge itself too just from our room (bush buck, warthog, crocodile, impala, giraffe, elephant, hyena, baboons). The safari guides were very knowledgeable and shared interesting info on the animals. Also worth mentioning the food was great and the AC in the room was a lifesaver. Thank you Motswari!

We stayed two nights and it was so memorable. We had the best guide and tracker - Josh and David - we even saw a leopard up close TWICE because of their good work. They are so knowledgeable and talented. The food is just to die for and the rooms are so beautiful, we had the Buffalo room facing the room and didn‘t want to leave. There were only six of us in the safari vehicle, which was roofless (amazing immersive experience) - that was very, very comfortable. From the moment you arrive to the minute you leave you‘re so well taken care of, they think of your every need and the staff is just amazing. The rooms gets cleaned twice a day and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom, the whole room actually, was spotlessly clean. We saw loads of animals up close (Big 5!) and the game drives were so much fun. Every morning and evening you stop for a break in a beautiful location and they serve you drinks/coffee and some snacks. If it’s your first time on Safari - or first time in South Africa - and you’re unsure about which camp to stay at, as was I (and I did a lot of research myself) - come here and just enjoy. I promise you, you won‘t regret it!! It‘s amazing beyond words! Thank you Motswari, we‘ll be back for sure!

My husband (28 yo, French) and I (28 yo, American) stayed 3 nights at Motswari and had a phenomenal experience. We flew into Hoedspruit from Johannesburg, rented a car to the lodge, and then flew Hoedspruit to Cape Town. The Motswari staff was very welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable (thank you Hendry, Owen, Nando, Desmond, Phaswane). We really enjoyed the small group sizes for the game drives (4-6 guests). The facilities exceeded our expectations with the main lodge area being beautiful and our room feeling luxe and private. Also, the food was phenomenal (shoutout John and Pretty!). Each time we returned to the lodge, we were given a hand towel or a drink, and the staff members learned our names and popped by for quick chats. These little details made us feel so special. Shortly before our stay, there was some flooding on the game reserve from rain, and the staff reached out to me directly and was quick to get the roads back in shape. I really appreciated this communication. In general if you're renting a car, get an SUV, as the last stretch of road is unpaved. There was free parking, and it was a straight, easy drive between the airport and lodge. Definitely recommend!
