Hostel Overview

Welcome to Shiralee Hostel — where your Perth adventure starts and your plans definitely change. Smack bang in the Perth CBD, you’re a 12-minute walk from Northbridge’s bars, restaurants, and nightclubs (yes, those nights), and just a 4-minute drive from Beaufort Street’s café crawl. House rule: bring a valid passport for check-in.
Hang out on the terrace, flip something on the BBQ, or make new “best friends for 3 days” in the shared lounge. The communal kitchen is ready for your culinary masterpieces (or instant noodles — we don’t judge).
Mornings are covered with free breakfast — toast, bread, butter, peanut butter, marmalade, and jams to help you recover and reset. There’s free Wi-Fi in public areas, laundry facilities to rescue your backpack wardrobe, and vending machines for late-night snack emergencies.
All rooms are air-conditioned, with shared bathrooms and zero pressure — just good vibes and chilled living.
When you’re ready to explore (or escape), Kings Park is a quick 9-minute drive for views and picnics, and Cottesloe Beach is only 20 minutes away for salty swims and sunset magic.

Guests must provide a valid passport and a valid photo ID upon check-in (drivers license). If guests do not have a passport, they must provide two forms of photo ID. If ID is not provided, a $250 bond may apply.

Also, If the police or management have to come down and deal with anyone, there will be a $200 charge on the credit card.Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Location was nice and central. People were more or less friendly. Common bathrooms were cleaned every day. Staff were helpful. Very cheap.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Shiralee Hostel and couldn’t recommend it more highly! From the moment I arrived, it was clear that cleanliness is a top priority here. The rooms, bathrooms, and common areas were consistently spotless, with regular cleaning that made everything feel fresh and comfortable throughout my stay. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it easy to relax and meet other travelers. The facilities were well-maintained and thoughtfully organized, which really added to the overall experience. It felt like a home away from home. Overall, Shiralee Hostel exceeded my expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and friendly place to stay, this is definitely the spot. I would happily stay here again!

Lovely staff, and people overall, great facilities, good location in town, accessibility to CBD by foot and lots of public transports, frequent cleaning. Not very crowded which makes it easy to meet and talk to people. 100% recommend
