It was a wonderful, quirky place in a beautiful setting. Tony our host was a great fun character and looked after us very well, along with Joanna. The peacocks and baby goats were a bonus. Our evening meal in the Nosh was really superb, thanks to Ben, the chef, as was our breakfast in the morning.

After being informed by Tony owner of Calthwaite Hall that there was no booking for me & my partner inspite it being confirmed by booking.com, the Hall was fully booked so there were no empty rooms. Tony was amazing. He'd had a cancellation for a lodge so he gave us a lodge for our overnight stay even though they're usually for a wk. Tony was very understanding to the fact it would take up to 5hrs home & we had already had a very long day. Tony made sure we had drinks & full amenities. We used the Nosh restuarant & had stunning meals with the chef happy to cook my steak well done & my keylime pie with custard. Breakfast had been included with our room so we also had that which was another great meal. We could go round the grounds to take photos & see Buttercup the foal who is 2wks old today. I was disapointed I wouldn't see inside the Hall, Tony sent 1 of the staff to give me a photo book showing in & out the Hall before we left. I cannot thank tony & the staff & the peacocks for such a fabulous stay.

Every person i met were all so happy and friendly, the grounds of the property are breathtaking and the food is to die for well worth a visit we will definitely be staying again
