“Cosy stay after a long days drive. Would love to stay longer and enjoy the balacony views.”

Gorgeous old house that has been updated very tastefully. We liked the self checkin and being able to walk into town.

“Amazing 1890s period accommodation.”

The apartment was beautiful with superb period furniture and features. Loved the piano, the high ceilings with lovely ceiling roses, beautiful light fittings, grand staircase, fantastic wide verandahs, use of library etc. Fantastic job of re-enacting the 1890s period. Felt very grand.

“Very good”

Property was a lovely historical house with period furniture but very comfortable. House is separated into 4 units with communal Library, stairwell & pool.

“Home away from home - five stars!”

Even before I arrived, the host Steve was extremely helpful in answering the questions I had so I felt very prepared for my stay. His emails were clear about what was included and where to find the place. From the moment I arrived, I fell in love with it. The restoration, furnishings and decorating were true to the period of the house while being extremely comfortable. Everything, both inside and out, had been considered. There were little spots around the backyard to curl up on a bench seat with cushions, or rest at a table with a drink or to journal. Had I been a touch braver, I was even going to attempt the pool, but I couldn't bring myself to in the cold temperatures, Instead, the upstairs library was a great place to curl up with a book. My room was located at the back of the house, accessible through the back lane. Being sheltered in that way, I appreciated the quiet. Easy access to the keys. My room was just delightful. Kitchen had everything I needed to prepare simple meals, including a little oven that I cooked pulled pork in! The bathroom was very clean with fresh towels that smelled amazing. The room itself was spacious with a table and two chairs, a Queen bed and a desk with two armchairs. The mattress for the bed was firm without being too hard, and so many pillows and cushions! The a/c on the wall kept the room at an even temperature and it didn't take long to heat the room up in the morning and when I got back at the end of the day. For me it was a home away from home for the 4 nights I stayed for work, and I would not hesitate in recommending this beautiful place to anyone wishing to stay in Parkes. I only hope I head back this way again and soon!
