There is a lot to like about Hotel Margot as a budget friendly hotel. Firstly, the price point is very good for Paris. The staff were friendly and helpful and those that we spoke to were fluent in English which made our visit easier. They offered advice on how to use the train system and buy tickets and were attentive to our needs. Our room was small and basic but clean which is what you expect for the price. There was a nice little dining area and lounge on the ground floor which made up for the lack of some facilities in our room and we used these more than we thought we would. Free coffee and tea was available at all times in the dining area and there was the option of a continental breakfast for a reasonable fee but we didn't partake of this. The location around the corner from Gare du Nord and metres away from the Metro station, although it had some drawbacks, was excellent for us as we were travelling on Eurostar and were using the Metro and RER trains daily. It was an easy walk with our luggage from the Eurostar terminus. There was a small supermarket directly opposite which was convenient for buying provisions, a good selection of restaurants and fast food outlets around the corner and an excellent bakery two doors up on the corner from which we purchased wonderful pastries for breakfast. Gare du Nord has a good range of retail shops which were very close if we needed to buy anything. Hotel Margot was exactly what we expected it to be - a basic but convenient option in a good location at an affordable price point.

Exactly as advertised, incredibly close to Gare du Nord which was very convenient for us. Reception staff were lovely. We even had a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower from the balcony. They also kept our luggage safe on our last day before leaving Paris which was very helpful.

Great location, very close to Gare du Nord station. The staff were friendly and helpful. I chose not to have breakfast, but there is a market right in front of the hotel with fresh, warm pastries. The room was clean and basic, and it matched the price well.

Location near train station was great. So glad they had a lift. 24 hour concierge was excellent. Good value for money.
