Excellent location for Paris. We arrived in the morning and let us already settle in our room without any extra fee. We had a mansard room so we had to climb 5 floors but it was worth it and gave the real Parisian vibe. I loved it and recommend it- great value for money!

the location was perfect with shops, grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants and bars right next door. The hotel merits more than "une étoile" - the standards of cleanliness and maintenance are exceptional. Staff at reception are extremely helpful and accommodating. Easy walking distance to many attractions. A wonderful area to explore. Close to several metro stations. Just remember this is a lively area that is bustling until late. Je sentais chez moi.

This was the perfect small, cheap hotel and that's why I rate it as 'exceptional'. It was close to tow metro stations, in a very characterful neighbourhood, within a 30 minute walk of Notre Dame and much else. The staff were exceptionally helpful. The room was small but the bed comfortable. There was an en-suite toilet and washbasin which I hadn't expected (it said 'shared bathroom' but I've be Americanised so thought that meant toilet). The (shared) shower was across the corridor and was excellent. I didn't know you could still get hotels like this in Paris and can recommend it wholeheartedly- if it's what you're looking for. Downstairs at street level was a very charming bar/restaurant ('Ave Maria' - under different owners). Colourful and lively.
