We loved our stay at Bwana Tembo Safari Camp. The food was good, the staff very friendly and accommodating. And the elephants that came at night, what a great experience <3

Good location. Very nice staff from the night watchmen to all-around-managers, welcoming, efficient... Nice Italian food. It is a somewhat rustic place, but we came for safari not searching luxury, so a hot shower and a roof over our head is enough.

The place was nice. On Booking, it said "room," but it was actually half a room, half a tent (tent walls with a wooden floor). At first, I was a bit skeptical — I think they should explain that more clearly on the website. But after the first night, we got used to it, and honestly, it was surprisingly clean and comfortable. We were a bit afraid at night because you can hear all the animals through the tent, but I guess that’s part of the experience. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was really good. However, I found it quite expensive. I’ve stayed at other safari lodges around Kampala where I paid almost half the price for similar quality. That said, it was partly my fault for not checking the details in advance. The location is nice — close to one of the national park gates (forgot which one) and also relatively near to town. Just make sure to plan your activities in the park ahead of time to avoid long trips back and forth within the park.
