The management and staff were extremely helpful and kind and left us to our own devices with the offer of help seconds away via their remote system and WhatsApp. They arranged an airport transfer and it went smoothly. They let us check our bags in early remotely and then checked us in two hours early. The location is superb, in the heart of the old city, where tall, centuries old terraced buildings face one another. The echo of the distant bustle that begins late in morning in summer, when you open the floor length doors to the balcony and receive a friendly ciao from your Italian neighbors as you sip the complimentary Sicilian Caffè is heaven! The fresh produce and restaurants are some of the best I’ve experienced. The room was comfortable, the aircon worked well and the balcony was a highlight. The building is old in a good way and very well preserved and decorated. Smells clean and you feel cosy and safe. I was going to stay in Mondello but I’m glad I didn’t because it’s lovely to visit but too touristy for me to stay the whole time. The place is just 20 minutes from mondello beach via taxi or uber. By the evening, this location is some of the best nightlife with outdoor singers, great food, and a really fun energy in the air.

Housed in a beautiful old building, the rooms are located at the top of a few short flights of stairs. Giammarco clearly cares, the service and communication were excellent from the moment I completed the booking (which I did whilst travelling by coach from Trapani). Whilst he couldn’t be there to meet us, access to the building and the room was very slick. Comprehensive information was provided and we were able to check in a little early, then store our luggage after check-out. The room itself has been designed with no expense spared, in particular, attention paid to ambient lighting, and good quality fitted furniture.The room was also well insulted from noise and sunlight at dawn. The three rooms are well spaced and have access to a shared kitchen. I’d definitely stay again and will certainly recommend Barlaman to friends visiting Palermo.

Great location. Close to tourist spots and transport links. Everything was walkable. Room was clean and comfortable. Giammarco was very helpful throughout our stay, waiting up until 1am for us to arrive after a very delayed flight to let us check in, and also giving us loads of information about the area. I would definitely stay again!
