Absolutely everything. Lovely Tuscan property with swimming pool. Great apartment with well equipped kitchen. We like it so much we’re heading back next year with children and grandchildren.

Il Prato We have enjoyed a 12 night stay at Il Prato. It is an excellent base to explore Tuscany and a short walk into Palaia with its many eateries and history. The surroundings are lovely with a well kept swimming pool, table tennis table and tennis courts. We were in room 1 away from the main building which suited us. The room is basic with a double bed. We paid the extra €35 a week for air conditioning. We were glad we did. Unfortunately we found the mattress very uncomfortable. We had to request more pillows as there was no support. There is a large wardrobe but only 4 clothes hangers so most of our clothing was stored on chairs. There is also a sofa bed which was also too uncomfortable to sit on for long. The kitchen area had a small table for 4 people, gas hob, fridge with small freezer for ice and a real mismatch of crockery & utensils. Unfortunately we could not get the microwave/ oven to work, and the kettle plug had an unsafe intermittent connection. There is a small TV which we did not use. The bathroom has a reasonable shower & we always had hot water. The shower cubicle itself really needs some attention. The booking.com advert stated toiletries were available however this just means a bottle of liquid hand soap. Everywhere would benefit from a good damp dust. Outside we had a quiet garden area with seating. The outside lights did not work in our garden area. Unfortunately we were eaten alive by mosquitoes if we didn’t use excessive citronella & cover up. There was no housekeeping during our stay and we had to request clean sheets & towels after the first week, and change the bed ourselves. Elidi was friendly and always responded to our texts for assistance. On arrival we had to ring to say we were there and she did come to take our payment plus the local €20 tourist tax.

Beautiful old Tuscan house surrounded by a large garden. A large fridge means plenty of space for wine.

We have stayed at this property 4 times as an extended family of 9 over the past 9 years. Young and old we all adore this place. The setting is perfect for a restful holiday. The village of palaia which is a short walk away has everything you need. The locals are warm and friendly, that’s why we all love it. A true reflection of village life in Tuscany. Apartments have all you need for your stay, kitchen well equipped. Rooms spacious with linen and towels provided. Large pool to the rear of the apartments. A large gazebo with seating, plus patio cars and table for each apartment for outdoor eating.
