Good beds, quiet location, nice breakfast. We also had lunch here one of the days, which was very nice. The room had a nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool.

The overall description of this hotel I can give is impressive. I found the hotel on this website whilst travelling through Laos on holiday and whilst the photographs gave a very good impression, arrival certainly sealed it. The Athena is "up the road" from the Souphanuvong Bridge on main street 13. It's a 10-15 minute walk up the street or a Tuk-Tuk/taxi ride as it's 400-500m up the street from the Bridge and the in town bus station. On arrival I checked in with extremely courteous and helpful staff. A Concierge delivered my luggage to my room, and the hotel offered me a complimentary drink in the lounge area, as I was little early for check-in, while I waited. The room I booked, a deluxe double, was extremely comfortable and impressive. I had a ground floor room, with dark wooden floors, matching furniture, with large patio windows to the adjoining hotel pool outside. Each room adjoining the pool had furniture (longer, table). The room was very spacious, and the bed huge. An ensuite bathroom with a. large walk-in shower, and large sink basin, set the overall comfort level of the room to a high. The room contained a fridge/mini bar. Breakfast was included in my booking, and the hotel provided a comprehensive breakfast menu. I also chose to eat at the hotel restaurant one evening, with the food being a very high quality with many options. I can say I found the Athena Hotel an excellent choice of accommodation on my stay in Pakse. I have nothing but a positive experience of the establishment and its offer. After a 19 hour bus journey to Pakse on a "VIP" Laos bus, the Athena Hotel was a solid choice. It's rated as a 3 star on Booking but that may be doing it a disservice: a 4 star is very well deserved. I would certainly rate this hotel as an accommodation venue that is top class, and value for money. Highly recommended.

Great staffs, room looks better than in pictures. Usually picture show room better than it look, not this hotel. I really like it. It exceeded my expectations.
