Owaka lodge motel was on the old side but the bed was comfortable, we had a kitchenette and a good sized bathroom. The room was clean and warm. The proprietor was friendly and gave us a delicious warm apricot muffin on arrival. She also suggested to have dinner at the Lumberjack cafe, which was excellent.

Friendly hostess, very clean with good cooking facilities that are needed as local eateries/pubs are limited in availability and trading hours. Very tasty home made muffins were a complimentary treat on arrival and were appreciated after a few hours on the road. A very good Tourist info office is across the road and the pub is only 50m away but it seems to only open spasmodically.
