Connemara Lake Hotel was pleasantly situated in the centre of Oughterard, just a few kilometers beyond Galway, and made an excellent point from which to tour in West of Ireland. This was something I had not myself done before, and I would definitely like to return at some point later in time. The room was nicely furnished and afforded a good night's rest after a day's driving. Here the breakfasts are particularly good, and the bar is well kept. Dinner was possible at the weekend, and I did go one night for some very nicely prepared fish of the day, which was hake.
