Great location for touring. Spacious rooms comfy bed and loads of hot water. Brakfast and dinner menu were very good. Very friendly staff.

This hotel is a gem of a place and We'd love to stay again ! The hotel was set back from the main road , it was roughly 12 miles from the English/Scottish border / viewpoint which is worth stopping at ! Parking was easily available and they welcomed Campervans too with a overnight parking area for them too which is great. We were greeted by one of the owners of the hotel who told us everything we needed to know and explained there was a current water pressure issue but it was in the process of being sorted. Our room (5) was very nicely decorated and had everything we needed, it was located at the front of the building with views across the surrounding countryside, road noise was not an issue even with the window open. We ate dinner in the restaurant ,the food was delicious, very generous portions at a more than reasonable price, the lady that served us was really friendly and chatty and kept us updated on the water repair ( it was fixed by 8pm so we were happy we could freshen up after a long day travelling). The bed was very comfy and we had a good nights sleep, the room was a bit hot for my liking but so was the weather ! The building obviously retains the heat as it has very thick walls and I'm always hot anyway ! Breakfast was served between 8-9 am , there was an excellent choice on offer, it was cooked to prder and was delicious. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and they really look after their guests, nothing was too much trouble.
