The fine print
Please note that the closest main road junction to reach the Hosteria is from the Panamericana at Otavalo. Guests must follow the signpost saying Lagunas de Mojanda at the traffic light on the main road, and fork left immediately after taking the left turn uphill towards the lakes. Continue uphill for about 3 km and find us on the right hand side just after the Escuela Gonzales Suarez school. It takes about 10 minutes to reach Rose Cottage by car from the Panamericana at Otavalo highway.Please note guests must advise the property at least 24 hours in advance if they want to use of the hot tub/jacuzzi. There is a charge of $5 per person, minimum $15. Guests who stay for at least 2 nights in rooms costing more than $50 per night can use the jacuzzi once free of charge, subject always to booking it direct with the property at least 24 hours in advance. Dogs are welcome, but will be charged $5 per night.

A beautiful and peaceful location outside of Otovalo, ideally located for the Trans Ecuador Mountain Bike Route. We arrived late, but with a very warm welcome from Christian and his wife, Brigitte, who lit a roaring fire for us and cooked up excellent food. Strongly recommended.

I had a wonderful stay at Hosteria Rose Cottage. Mark and Rosa were excellent hosts, they were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating, they really went out of their way to make me feel at home. The hostel is nestled in the mountains less than a 10 minute drive out of Otavalo, the location is tranquil and the view is so inspiring. Evening meals are very reasonably priced at $8 for a wholesome home cooked meal plus a pudding, veggie options are available. I originally booked 2 nights but liked it so much that I booked an extra 2!

Nice location, stunning views and good breakfast every morning! The staff was wonderful, they did everything to make it a nice and comfy stay.

If you want to spent some time outside the city with an amazing view - this is the place to go. The stuff is really nice and they help you a lot if you need a taxi, some sort of information etc. I spent 3 nights there and it was a really good time!
