We weren't sure where to stay on Orkney but we're glad we picked here. The host was super friendly and came to say hello once we checked in. The lodge was full of kind offerings like local butter, crackers, cheese, biscuits and milk - which was delicious. We were on our honeymoon and the host kindly got us a bottle of prosecco which was so thoughtful. The hot tub is brilliant and there are robes and slippers to use which make you feel like you're at a spa. The lodge was so much bigger than we thought it would be with a great size kitchen (we actually cooked in both nights) and living area. The lodges are about a 30 min walk (on a hill) from town but we ended up getting a taxi back after a few drinks which was only £7 so can't complain! Would recommend to anyone! Thank you..

So comfortable, well equipped and surprisingly spacious. Wonderful view over Kirkwall. Completely surpassed our expectations and we went thinking that it looked lovely. Warm and cosy during wind and rain too. Just perfect!

The lodge is very well designed and equipped. Dorothy provides a welcome pack of milk, cheese, bread, butter, oatcakes and biscuits. There are toiletries in the bathroom. The bed is extremely comfortable and there are plenty of towels. The views from the lodge over Kirkwall are lovely, especially from the hot tub in the late evening. The lodge is situated on the edge of Kirkwall, at the top of a hill with fields behind and in front so it felt very rural and peaceful but you could walk into town in twenty minutes (you may need to take a bus or taxi up again though!). The adjacent lodge is separated by a grassy bank and a large parking area on either side so it feels very private. Dorothy is a very welcoming host with great local knowledge. I highly recommend a stay here.

Fantastic stay here, the perfect place to explore Orkney from. Dorothy was wonderful and ensured everything was well organised, clean and comfortable. The hot tub was fantastic after exploring outdoors on the colder, windier days. A short drive to Kirkwall township in a quiet setting. Highly recommended!
