Exceptional and beautiful property atop a hill with great views of the surroundings. The house and garden is just stunning (no wonder they've previously used this location to film movies here!). We've spent a few lovely days here with the family before going on a multi-day bike tour on the close-by islands of the Shimanami Kaido. Really enjoyed the tranquility of the house and surroundings. If required, and even though the property doesn't have parking, there is cheap public parking just downhill by the main road.

The building has been beautifully restored. The details were exceptional. Lots of thoughtful touches for guests and the host has left details on how to discover Onomichi as well as local artists, eating places and crafts people. This is a must for lovers of cinema as the property has a history with filmmakers. Staying here was the highlight of our journey through Japan!
