The fine print
Based on local tax laws, Peruvian citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Peru) must pay an additional fee of 18%. To be exempt from this 18% additional fee (IVA), a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented.
Please note both documents are required for fee exemption. Guests who are not able to present both documents will be required to pay the fee.
Foreign business travellers who require a printed invoice, will also be charged the additional 18% regardless of the length of their stay in Peru. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation.

Really well located for the station if you are going to Machu Picchu. Fredy was incredibly helpful and helped us book a driver and guide for part of the Sacred Valley on the way to Ollantaytambo. Beds were comfortable and a pleasant stream ran at the back of the property. Good breakfast, which starts at 6am so that you can eat before your train.

Breakfast was good and handed to me in a box as I had to take the train very early. Personell was nice, they put a hot water bag in the bed for us. Location was really good.

If you’re heading to Machu Picchu from Ollantaytambo, Wayras Hostel is an absolutely ideal choice. It’s just a two-minute walk from both the IncaRail and PeruRail stations, placing you right in the heart of the buzz and excitement as travellers arrive and depart. The main square of Ollantaytambo is about a ten-minute walk away, which I was aware of beforehand and found perfectly manageable. My room was absolutely lovely, with the Urubamba River flowing just outside my window—the constant sound of rushing water added a wonderfully magical touch, both day and night. Breakfast was a delightful affair, with scrambled eggs freshly made to order. The manager was also kind enough to store my luggage overnight while I visited Machu Picchu, which was much appreciated. The hostel itself is charming and attractively designed, with pretty gardens at the back creating a peaceful and picturesque setting. I had no complaints whatsoever and would happily recommend Wayras Hostel to anyone visiting the area. I’d certainly stay there again if I ever returned.
