The. History, with old photos on walls, ambience,location of hotel and character it had. The meals were lovely and the continental breakfasts were great….loved that butter and marmalade came on a wee plate. Not those silly little packs that chain hotel use. Very happy with that.. generous portions also. perfect ! Hotel has been refurbished in nice colours, decor is wonderful. And the place is very clean ,tidy .. Beds were great, and quiet.. slept well Every staff member were so efficient,warm and friendly. A pleasure to stay there. Will/ Would stay there again..

We chose this hotel for its old world charm. Unfortunately our room was in the modern wing, out the back. It was nevertheless comfortable and well appointed and we had no complaints. We did however enjoy our meal in the charming dining room. The food was delicious and the atmosphere just what I expected.
