“Perfect.”

The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. They had thought of everything you’d need for your stay. Lots of treats on arrival which lasted throughout the stay. Property was very clean and cosy. Lovely location too to explore Rutland Water. Definitely going back again. Deserve 10 out of 10 rating.

“Delightful old cottage, very close to town centre”

Good location, rooms were good size, well furnished, house warm and comfortable. Good quality bed linen and lovely thick towels. Well stocked 'welcome treats' with fully equipped kitchen. Although no parking at cottage, parking ticket for nearby carpark provided.

“We couldn't have chosen better - an amazing little cottage right in the centre of Oakham.”

Location was perfect. Less than 5 minutes walk to a major supermarket, and less so to all the high street shops, cafes, and artisan purveyors of foodstuffs (bakers, butchers, deli, wine shop). A number of pubs including Wetherspoons for the cost-conscious, and 1 minute to The Wheatsheaf, a brilliant "local" pub with a super friendly vibe. Everybody we met in Oakham was friendly beyond belief. The cottage was also perfect. Spacious (considering it's a two-bedroom cottage), the beds were supremely comfortable and the kitchen had virtually every appliance you could wish for. The back yard was brilliant for breakfasts in the summer sun, or drinks as the day waned. Parking was super easy too. It felt like home, and our children started to call it that after only a few days. We never met the hosts, but everything was provided and instructions were clear. They provided a welcome pack gratis, which was amazing after our 30hr plus journey. Bread, butter, jam from the local award-winning bakery. Quality teas and coffee, a jar of "goodies" (chocolate biscuits etc), hand-cooked crisps (chips if you're American), and a couple of fresh cakes/tarts in the fridge. The reason we chose Oakham was to see our families within about a 30 minute radius, and to travel to Nottingham to look at purchasing a family home. We loved the cottage and the place so much that we have now put an offer in for a property within the Town.
