Very easy to find, just off the main road. Set in a lovely isolated location, with mountain and sea views. Very handy place to stay before we began our tour of the Westfjords the next day. Communication with the owners was very good. We arrived very late at night, after check-in hours, and their directions of how to get into the accommodation was very clear. The room was fairly large with fairly comfortable beds. The shower had good power with an ample supply of hot water. Outside the room, there is a common area with tea-making facilities, a microwave and plates and cutlery should you wish to have your own food. There is plenty of parking space for your car outside. All in all, a decent place to stay. We'd definitely stay here again.

Easy to find location, off the main road. We were warmly welcomed by a lady, very friendly and willing to help in any way she could. Good comfort, friendly staff, very well located. Parking right at the door. Friendly atmosphere One day when I return to this country, this accommodation will be my favorite. I even got bread as a gift.

Gil Guesthouse is managed and run by a couple with the husband being the cook while the wife makes awesome bread! We were four couples and we took the entire wing which had four rooms and a nice living/ dining room outside of the rooms. It facilitated a nice, warm get together among us. The room was comfortable. Water was strong and heated. Our stay overall was comfortable and stress free. In front, you also get a panoramic view of the plains. The couple told us that one could see the Northern Lights in certain time of the year. If you want a place to have a good rest, a good meal and a good sleep before you move on to other areas of Iceland, you can get that at Gil Guesthouse.

A very pleasant change from standard hotel stays . We took 4 rooms of similar size with a shared living/ dining room in the centre which allowed cozy interactions. Gil guesthouse has lovely settings like staying on a range or homestead and run by a lovely couple . Breakfast was simple but great .. especially the freshly baked bread ! The restaurant also have entertainment area for a pool table , music corner, tv and reading areas. Great for small group gatherings with fun interactions! For those who love animals. the resident dog and cat are added adorable distractions! Location well placed to break journey for the circular trip round the island . Also , it’s well configured for group interactions in cozy settings.
