We LOVED our stay at De Khama. The Homestay is nestled in a cozy place surrounded by a mini farm, garden with a great view of the blooming roses, plenty of trees and mountains from our room. Peace, calm, tranquility reigned supreme here. The room was comfortably furnished. Our host family was warm, generous, welcoming and Mr Sonam gave us an informative tour about the local culture, community, farming practices and personally took us on a walk to their main farm. The lounge area has books, games and a good place to just relax, interact with the hosts and other travelers. There was hot water and electricity throughout the day with inverter back up. I had reached out to request additional items for dinner on mom's birthday and they made it special and memorable above and beyond our expectations. It was an incredible feeling watching them pluck fresh spinach or lettuce from the garden. Their garden and farm are entirely organic and the meals are authentic farm to table. Everything except rice is grown on their farm! I'll strongly recommend trying fresh chamomile tea, mint tea and khambir. Our hosts kindly switched off all lights and the view of the milky way at night was incredible. Overall it was a great experience and I'll surely return on my next trip.

Amazing stay at Hotel De Khama. The owners of the hotel, a family, are very friendly. The food was homemade and delicious with a lot of choice. The rooms are very clean, tidy, there are absolutely no strange odors, and it smells like wood since most of the interior of the hotel is made of wood in the Euro style. I was amazed by all this after many nights at home stay of Ladakh. However, most of all I was amazed by the beautiful garden of various flowers near hotel De Khama. I have travelled a lot throughout Ladakh and I stayed with many families in home stays, but I have never seen such a magnificent garden with flowers in the deep Himalayas near the houses of local people. Well done! I wish them prosperity and all the best! Of course, I recommend it 100%, if you are traveling in the Nubra Valley, stay overnight in Sumur, in this beautiful hotel De Khamа.

Beautifully clean property with a sun baked terrace where I could sit for hours looking over the vegetable and flower garden. I was also treated to an excellent home cooked meal using produce grown on site.
