We had an incredible stay. Our room had the most amazing view of the snowy woods at the back of the property. Breakfast was some of the best that we have had in Japan given that we are vegan. The host went out of his way to ensure we had everything that we needed. The location is great. Short walk to the slopes. Can`t wait to come back!

Annupuri had so much to offer—snow, skiing, and relaxing onsens—but booking Lodge 401 was the best decision of our trip. Rhys and his team made our experience truly magical. This was our first time in Japan, and even months before we arrived, Rhys and his team patiently answered all our questions. Once we got there, their support was unmatched—helping with everything from pick-up and ski equipment rentals to booking lift passes and drop-off, all while answering our endless questions. They also created a warm, friendly environment where guests could easily interact. The breakfast was excellent, and the lodge’s location, right next to the gondola, allowed us to grab our skis and hit the slopes—or return—whenever we wanted to. The rooms were cozy, the amenities thoughtfully detailed, and everything was just perfect. Honestly, our family of four (kids aged 15 and 12) couldn’t have asked for more. This was our best vacation ever!

Amazingly welcoming and helpful hosts. Scrummy breakfast served each morning with great tips as to how to get lift passes / access the resort / book restaurants. Nothing was too much bother. Totally brilliant!

Wonderful Stay at Lodge 401 in Annupuri From the start, the communication was great. We were able to reserve our ski passes, airport transfer, and ski rental in advance, making everything incredibly easy—especially as first-time visitors to Japan and Niseko. Upon arrival, we were picked up and warmly welcomed. The room was just as described, and while the facilities were shared, it was never an issue. The lodge is small and cozy, so there was always enough space. I could shower whenever I wanted, usually without anyone else around. The intimate setting also made it easy to connect with other travelers, which we really enjoyed. Breakfast was a highlight, with a great selection and daily homemade creations. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and the entire booking process went smoothly. There are dining options nearby, but we also had some excellent meals at the lodge itself. On our last day, checkout was at 10 AM, but since our bus didn’t leave until 3 PM, we decided to extend our ski rental for a few more hours. The lodge stored our luggage and allowed us to use the facilities until our departure. When the time came, they even drove us to the bus stop. Overall, we had a fantastic stay. Annupuri is a great ski destination—less crowded than other areas, with incredible snow. If the weather is good, skiing from the top into the other Niseko resorts is simply breathtaking. Highly recommended!
