The provided meals were not food that I was used to, but they were prepared and served very well. The room was very spacious for a solo traveller, and a family could share the room with little difficulty.

It’s a wonderful Ryokan - the food was yummy and well presented (if you’re not expecting Japanese presentation and tastes you may find it unusual, but give it a go and you won’t be disappointed). The Onsen are warm and inviting. The staff are helpful even with non-Japanese speakers There’s a lobby shop with souvenirs and gifts. The location could not be better for visiting the world heratige sites of Nikko.

The dinner and breakfast were fantastic and included in the price. They also provided yukatas for the stay, an onsen experience, fine for those with tattoos. Looks very traditional, close to many major shrines around.

The Onsen was satisfying and relaxing. The food was good and they also accommodated my vegetarian dietary requirements.
