Ryokan Overview

Hotel Shikisai is a 35-minute drive from Tobu Nikko Station and JR Nikko station, and a shuttle to the station is provided once a day. It offers 2 public hot-spring baths, free parking on site and free Wi-Fi in all areas. The property provides a free shuttle from Tobu Nikko Station and JR Nikko Station to the property.

We had an issue with a leaky sink in our room the first night, we were moved into an upgraded room with a bath on the balcony. The rooms were both very comfortable, it is definitely worth paying a bit extra for the upgraded room. In reception you can help yourself to sparkling or hot wine, tea, coffee and juices at various times of day. Very peaceful location and the hotel provide a shuttle service to town and to the train station.

This is not a unique format for Japan, but I liked how it was executed. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The room itself is conducive to physical and mental relaxation.
