Beautiful setting surrounded by olive groves. Loved the location: it’s quiet and rustic but has scenic hilltop towns and cultural hotspots within shirt driving distance. Friendly host, large and well equipped house, nice swimming pool and outside dining area. Loved it ( and so did the kids)!

The location was idyllic, set in the olive trees below Montecatini Alto. Antonio (the host) was friendly, informative and efficient but non-invasive - he was on site to let us in when we accidentally locked the keys inside but otherwise left us to our own devices. The pool - like everywhere - was incredibly clean. The washing machine worked and there were ample supplies in the way of crockery, kitchen utensils etc. There was a bowl of fresh fruit on the table when we arrived and he gave us two complimentary bottles of the wine from this very beautiful and particular area, which were delicious. Likewise the olive oil from the olive trees there. He told us which grapes we could eat and they were very sweet and tasty. There was an outdoor pizza oven which unfortunately we didn't have time to use. Because the location was a little off the beaten track (and difficult to find when we first arrived) it would not be practical to stay here without a car - and the tracks are narrow, so if you meet someone going the opposite direction they don't always respond with grace. So a smaller car is advised! It was a very quiet location and ideal for what we were doing, which was a yoga retreat. The water from the golden rooster tap was from the mountains and quite delicious. We had a lovely time there and I would thoroughly recommend it as a venue for a family or group wanting a quiet, restful and relaxing time.
