Lovely quiet location but within walking distance to Mortenhampstead with pubs, restaurants and shops, we did not want to leave

The Cowshed is absolutely stunning and very cozy with a fireplace and all the amenities you need (even heated floors in the bathroom). The place was clean and warm. The host, Wendy, was very welcoming and gave us many recommendations on walks and pubs in the area. We didn't have a car, but the property is very well located just 20 minute walk from the village for groceries and restaurants, and many beautiful Dartmoor paths (Hunter's and Fisherman's path, Castle Drogo, North Bovey, Easdon Tor) are close by. Wendy was also extremely helpful in helping us find a taxi when none were available on a bank holiday.

A truly wonderful home in a beautiful peaceful setting - everything needed for a cosy and comfortable stay was provided. Such care has been taken by Wendy to make the Cowshed a tranquil and charming home to spend time in.
