The post code led us up in the hills on very narrow roads in poor weather. For some reason we did not have the street address. Once we had that we got straight to the cottage but an hour later than we said we would collect the keys.

Excellent location for researching my family history and discovering areas on both sides of the Border. Excellent communication with Elaine the host. Easy on street parking in front of the cottage. Easy access to local grocery shops. Excellent free WIFI connection in the building. Lovely outside seating area plus a garden room for during inclement weather or in the cooler evenings. Some tea bags ,coffee and biscuits provided. Comfortable bed. This village is one of the friendliest we have ever stayed in. Everyone greeted you with a smile.

Great cottage. Spacious rooms and beds were very comfortable. Well kitted out and we had everything we needed. Lovely to have the use of the garden and sun porch. Good location for visiting the Scottish Borders, Northumbria and Cumbria. Excellent value for the price. Elaine was waiting for us when we arrived which we appreciated as we had got stuck in traffic around Edinburgh and then got lost.
