The front desk staff who Initially checked me in was super unfriendly. No idea why. Saw other guests been given info on the location, services available etc. I got nothing. She just held the card machine out for me to pay without explaining why an extra 100 dollars was added. It was a security deposit but I had to ask, such basic manners to Inform the customer. Clear that she had no interest. Other guests were given bottles of water …very strange. Later on I encountered some lovely staff at the front desk which made up for the initial strange behaviour. I had my dog with me and it was great to be able to take him everywhere. I got some strange looks from waitstaff on the rooftop - if they allow dogs I’m not sure why some staff appear disdainful. Rooms were pretty basic for the price. A real issue is that they do not have tea and coffee making facilities on site. I would rate it as a good 3 star. Would I stay again - no. There are more comfortable hotels available for the same price.

This is my fourth stay at 50 Bowery, and fourth for a reason. Every previous stay has been nothing short of wonderful. However, whilst our stay was still great, I wasn't perhaps as blown away as on previous occasions. It may well have been down to our room (I was travelling with my 12 year-old son) being somewhat smaller, unsure. Otherwise the usual service, cleanliness, amenities etc were again excellent.

Excellent location for accessing lower manhattan including Brooklyn Bridge and 9/11 Memorial. Easy to get Subway uptown.

Very spacious rooms. Excellent location with Chinese cuisine restaurants surrounding the hotel. Shopping for NYC gifts is cheaper here by 50% than Manhattan and Times Square. Staff were amazing 👏 helped us as we left passports in our uber. Very thankful we found them in the end thanks to NYPD which is behind the hotel.
