The staff is so nice and kind, and willing to help with everything. We got a free upgrade because I told the resort that I am worried the road to crooked cottage would be too difficult for my mini countryman. And I left an Apple earpod at the room and Charles found it. The resort contacted me and offered to send a courier guy to give me back my earpod. They are so nice

The retreat is about a 30 minutes drive from Nelspruit (Mbombela), but more than worth the trip. The location is right on top of a hill with stunning views. We booked the Rock House for a week and enjoyed the beautiful nature and the tranquility around us. We experienced a very warm welcome with a drink and all the staff was so friendly and helpful, whenever we asked for something. They gave us almost the feeling of being part of the family. We enjoyed the walking trails with some very unique plants (big old fig tree!) and we saw quite a few antilopes. The biggest surprise was the food and we were more than happy, that we booked breakfast & dinner in advance. Every meal was cooked/fried to perfection, delicious and nicely decorated. It was by far the best food we ever had in South Africa (we are living in the Western Cape for more than 9 years now). Secure parking, good WiFi at our room, nice private pool at the house and a big one in front of the main building. A special thanks to Sandy, Ross, Anastasia, Jason and all the other staff members for making our stay so pleasant and unforgettable!

Everything was fantastic! We had a 10/10 experience :) The warmth and friendliness of the staff, the breathtaking views, the food, overall serene bush experience and ofcourse the animals:) The only sad part was that we had to leave.
