Our stay here was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The facilities were spotless and thoughtfully maintained—every corner felt fresh and inviting. The bathroom was superb, with modern fixtures and plenty of hot water. What truly made our visit exceptional, though, was the owner’s genuine hospitality; they went out of their way to share local tips and ensure we had everything we needed. And when it came to trekking Tongariro, this was the perfect home base: just the right distance to the trailhead, with a cozy place to rest and recharge afterwards. If I ever return to conquer the Tongariro crossings again, there’s no doubt I’ll be booking this exact spot. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, cleanliness, and a warm welcome!

Apartment was well set up in terms of kitchen, bathroom needs. Dining table sat 6, but was against the wall. Lovely, friendly owner. Comfortable beds, warm unit. Very clean. Close to the (limited) food options and to Tongariro Crossing shuttle.
