This was a very traditional ryokan hidden away in the forest outside of Nara the food was fantastic Japanese food, the room was like an apartment with table and chairs looking out into the forest. It was cold when I was there in early March and although the central room was heated the bathroom and outer rooms were not. I didn’t mind this - it all added to the rustic charm. Very little English is spoken but the staff were lovely and went out of their way to be welcoming and we did manage to communicate. This was a very authentic experience and I loved it

Loved the uniqueness and location of the property. Very quiet and private retreat to experience true Japanese food and living, plus the staff were wonderful
