Ryokan Overview

A 12-minute walk from the Kintetsu Nara Train Station, Hotel New Wakasa offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami (woven-straw) flooring. A spacious public bath and foot bath is available for guests to relax in. Free luggage before and after check-in is available on site. Free WiFi is available at the entire building.

The quadruple room with private onsen was amazing, the decor is very calming, and we really enjoyed the outdoor onsen experience. Everything was great. I found the bed comfortable however my partner not as much so I guess it can vary. The coffee in the room was good and the soft drink, beer and cookies were a nice touch.

Superb location. Walking distance to Nara park. Clean room, private outdoor bath with view, staff trying hard to communicate in English. Meals had nice volume and every detail of the facility was designed with care.

Absolutely amazing staff. The facilities were beautiful. The area was fantastic. There was so much care and detail in the property and so much caretaking for everything they tried to do for you. Probably the best place I’ve ever stayed at. The private onsen was reasonably priced and massage was incredible and the price was a steal!
