Sutherland “A friendly family home located in a beautiful ancient stone village”

The family were so kind and helpful, they really made this trip memorable. The property is beautifully located in a quiet (somewhat remote) village. The room was clean and comfortable, with gorgeous shuttered windows. The motorcycle we rented from the owners was new and in very good condition, perfect for driving around the hilly island safely. The owners kindly offered free pick up and drop off service from the airport and port. We enjoyed drinking homemade coffee on the veranda in the sunshine. We had a great stay!

The owners are incredibly nice, I needed to buy something from a pharmacy but as there are none on the island, the owner insisted I take it from her private stash. We were also given a ride to the airport on the day of leaving. 謝謝你們～ The location is amazing, right by the beach. Our room was facing the water (per our request) and the view is so pretty.

Staff is super friendly and will help you with what to do on the island. They rent scooters so it is very convenient. Location near the shire so you can hear the sea.

As per the name of the hostel, "聽海“ my friends and I fell asleep to the sound of the waves gently lapping against the nearby shore. The hostel is located in a pretty village called Jinsha which boasts several cute restaurants and cafe, which is a 5 minute scooter ride/drive away from the Main Street in Mazu where we bought breakfast, coffee and saw the great statue of Mazu. The hotel staff were amazingly friendly and helped us plan an itinerary for the 4 days we stayed at the hostel, from reserving restaurants for us to organising scooter hire when we went on a day trip to Beigan. On our last day, 林先生 even gave us a tour of the village and helped us take photos at all of the scenic spots, an impromptu photo shoot, if you will! We visited the hostel in May, which meant we enjoyed the stunning sight of the Blue Tears at Jinsha beach almost every night we were there. The Blue Tears are only visible in the summer months. The hostel staff also provide a free shuttle service from the airport to the hostel in exchange for renting the hostel's scooters. This service was essential, convenient and good value for money. The scooters were 500ntd per day.
