We lived staying here and were sad it was only for one night. It was the best value place we stayed at for our trip. The traditional style room we had was really spacious and had everything we could need. It’s a small property, very quiet and close to walk to busier areas or to tram stops and the main JR station. We saw one staff member at check in, who was very helpful. Not the flashiest or newest and breakfast wasn’t included but offered at one of the many Irish bars that seem to be affiliated with the hotel. But in the context of this being 1/2 if not 1/3 the price of a comparable hotel in other cities it was great value.

I stayed in a ryokan room and it was the most lovely way to start my trip. The room was a fantastic size and had all of the ammenities I needed. Having a seperate bathroom and toilet was great! The staff were extremely friendly to talk to.

The room was tatami style, very charming and comfortable. The shower and toilet were fine, and filtered water was available in the common room. The location was nice and quiet and not too far from the waterfront and the tram line. There was a lovely bakery around the corner opposite the museum (definitely worth a visit, by the way. The host kindly let us keep our car in her parking space after we checked out so that we could visit the museum before leaving). It's not a large place so not many guests, which was nice
