Really nice, room very clean and tidy. Hosts are incredibly accommodating and make you feel like family. They went above and beyond to make the experience incredible.

The couple running the place is lovely. They make you feel at home from the beginning and they helped us a lot with good tips for places to visits and restaurants. The place is a bit far from the city centre but you have a direct bus line from train station. We had the tatami room and it was amazing: very comfortable and clean with very nice forniture. Don’t hesitate to book here, you will love it.

Our stay at Shioriya was amazing! The owners went above and beyond to make us comfortable and help with planning what to see in the area. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and it was a real treat to experience traditional Japanese bath and sleeping on futon. Absolutely loved our stay here and we hope to visit again!

The hosts are the most amazing part of your stay. I loved the couple as they were so welcoming and friendly. They greeted us like family, and gave us so many recommendations for places to visit each day, good restaurants and shopping. Every morning, they would prepare us a small breakfast with a soup (usually miso), fruit and tea or coffee. They even showed us how to make onigiri, origami and took us to a traditional Japanese wood craft workshop one morning when there were no other guests at the accomodation. In addition, the accommodation was perfect! The attention to detail is superb. The bedding was clean and made up every day. There is a normal Japanese toilet with bidet function, and good sized shower area. There was a common area kitchenette and laundry (washer and dryer) for guests to use. They have obviously been thoughtful in designing the rooms and there are beautiful accents and traditional elements throughout the accomodation. I would 100% come back to this accomodation just for the hosts and the wonderful time I had.
