What can I say about this lovely place in Nagano - the owner Orie and the staff are some of the nicest and kindest people that I have met in my life. I had an ankle injury and the support and care I received was truly exceptional. They went above and beyond to help and Hiroko and Etsuko were amazing. I didn't get a chance to explore Nagano due to my injury but the hostel is a great base to do so. It's well located, quite comfortable and very clean. I met some amazing co - travellers as well so it's a nice place to be able to connect with others. I hope to return to Nagano another time. Arigato gosaimas.

It’s a beautiful old house, close to a bus stop, convenience stores and Zenkōji temple. We stayed in a private room which was very charming and had all we needed. But most importantly, the staff - every single person - are so kind and welcoming. They helped me with so many things and played with my two daughters so much that they didn’t want to leave.

My second time here! Very friendly staff, love their food recommendations and hospitality. Slept in the mixed dorm (a double bunk that was slightly separate from the main dorm) which gave me greater privacy. No towels provided, just a small hand towel! Laundry is 500 yen for washing & drying (staff will help you).

The staff were so lovely. They had fantastic local tips and made us feel very welcome. It was in a fantastic location, very close to the temple and lots of great eating options. The room was very comfortable and the heating was very efficient.
