Firstly let me say just how nice, welcoming, and super helpful the hosts Brenda and James were. Nothing was too much trouble for them - they were full of knowledge and always keen to make sure we had a great time. James is super willing to drive you to and from the park entrance and is happy to pick up at the drop of a WhatsApp message. The accommodation IS basic but the price reflects that so there’s no sense that this isn’t value. Don’t expect fancy aircon or much in the way of posh rooms - but for sure what you have is cleanliness, warmth and friendliness. Brenda’s great tour into the Park was a nice addition to all we experienced here. The Marriott Hotel over the river is a stark reminder of how expensive Mulu can be….
