Small but well equipped room at a decent price. Large balcony. Booking easy, communications clear. Best bit was the staff, who were friendly, helpful and proactive.

Overall, the hotel Iris had a nice relaxed atmosphere. Its staff was friendly, polite and correct. It was easy to find by car. There was a parking area for the cars. It took only few minutes to walk to the sandy beach. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The bed, i.e. the mattress, was very good, suitable for us. Best in 2 weeks of our trip. The bathroom was functional. In the shower, the water stayed where it belonged. The pressure in the shower was appropriate, the drain didn't smell. We got a room that included a really spacious balcony, where it was easy to dry the swimwear and towels. Breakfast had everything needed and served fresh and tasty. The coffee machine made some really good coffee. The best part of our trip. Special coffees and traditional Greek coffee were also available, if desired. It was nice to have breakfast on the balcony of the hotel. Of course, there would have been more tables on the balcony. On both mornings while we were there, one table had been reserved by a couple of people that only drank coffee and smoked tobacco, thus depriving other guests of the opportunity to have breakfast on the balcony. Fortunately, we had our own balcony and took breakfast there one of the mornings.

The lady with the long hair who welcomed us upon arrival was exceptional & very professional. She gave the right instructions on where to go and what to do in the area. The location was nice and quiet, away from the centre of Monemvasia. It was walking distant from the beach of Ambelakia, which is a nice organised beach. The wind is an issue there, but there are other nice beaches about 30 minutes away by car. We also liked the big balcony!
