The staff here are very friendly, well as is everyone in Japan, but the staff here were next level nice! Fantastic location, we even got the room with THE view over the bay and the Tori Gate so were super happy, quite why the room is listed as mountain view and not sea view I dont know. I think it was room 501. Just be aware the Everything closes at 6pm on the Island, even the hotel bar! luckily there is a Lawson just by the ferry terminal that closes at 9pm. Its lovely to stay on the Island when everyone else has gone back to the mainland though.

Location, the ambience, and the owners who were very warm and welcoming. Lovely experience of a traditional ryokan.
