“Brilliant for a stay with good food and hospitality”

It was a quirky place, with a few oddities which provided an unexpected charm. The hospitality was wonderful, with a great evening meal, nothing fancy, but excellent pub food. We needed to be away early in the morning and a breakfast hamper with a continental breakfast was left outside our door. The staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The bar was lively, and the resturant busy, providing a jolly atmosphere

My room and its bathroom were huge. The pub has its own car park. Blue Anchor is very quiet at night and local eating options are limited. The breakfast is served in a hamper -- a nice touch. It included tasty pastries, bread, cheese and ham and fruit juice. The room had an Espresso coffee machine, which I appreciated. There's a good range of ciders available in the bar.

Lovely sized room Staff were excellent even though we arrived late nothing was too much trouble. The kitchen even nocked us up a late pizza which was very tasty. Breakfast delivered to our room in the morning in a cute picnic hamper with a nice selection of foods,very nice touch.
