Best place to stay in Midigama, right next to best surfing spots and has a billards table. Guys are extremely helpful and friendly, if you are seeing this, you should give it a try for a couple of days I am sure you will want to extend your stay!

I spent 2 months living in this hostel and I couldn't find a better place. The guys working there are lovely and helpful. Yehan and Palitha are honestly the best. The rooms are really clean. The location is amazing. The surf shop is owned by Chulanga and the prices are so good. He even helped me to fix a surfboard that I rented in other place!!! Chill place and 1 minute walking from one of the best spots for surfing.

Honest review after 3 weeks at Cheeky Monkey INTRODUCTION We are two girls who traveled to Ceylon for the first time. We were looking for a good apartment for a long stay: safe, clean, with good Wi-Fi and air conditioning. We also needed a location close to beginner-friendly surf spots. ABOUT THE HOTEL 1. Safety Safety was very important for us, and this hotel was perfect in that sense. There are many cameras on every floor, and there is a police station right across the street. 2. Location The hotel is conveniently located close to Ahangama and Weligama. We went there every day for surfing and breakfast. Getting around is easy: a tuk-tuk costs about 1000 rupees, and the crazy bus is around 100 rupees. 3. Rooms We stayed in two rooms with air conditioning. The rooms are really clean. The mattress is firm in the best way — very supportive and comfortable. And the bed linen was clean and nice. One of our rooms had a water heater. The room without it might be inconvenient for girls with long hair. 4. Local staff We really appreciate the welcoming and helpful housekeepers. They solved all our issues: with the AC, sockets, and even helped us peel fruits 😅 TIPS FOR TRAVELERS - Expectations. Sri Lanka is not about European-level perfection. Resorts here are still developing, and perfectly polished places are rare. If you come with an open mind, enjoy the village atmosphere and don’t expect the usual comfort, this place will feel magical! - Sleeping comfort. Bring earplugs and a sleeping mask. The hotel is near the road, and there is a lot of sunlight in the morning. - Cleaning. You can ask Johan about cleaning — he’s a very friendly and nice guy! - Food. Try breakfast and dinner at Blue Porch. It’s a simple place with really delicious food. - Transport. Meet a local tuk-tuk driver named Pria. Save his contact on WhatsApp. His prices are lower than most other drivers. - Laundry. There is a small and cute laundry near the hotel. We paid around 1000 ru
