The house and its surroundings are beautiful. It is situated in a small villate up on a mountain side, and the view down towards the Douro river valley is incredible. Having good breakfasts and dinners in the garden of the hotel was very nice. The staff was kind. The pool area was great.

This place was love at first sight. The house is situated above the valley, providing beautiful views which you can watch from directly from the pool, during sunset. The room was a treasure on its own, with historic furniture, accessories and picturesque bathroom. The owners and stuff is lovely, making sure you have everything you need. Overall - deliciously romantic vibe, perfect if you want to just slow down, relax, enjoy the village silence and if you look for a unique experience. Would visit again.

This is a magical place to witness the beauty of the region. Staying at Casa d' Alem is an EXPERIENCE. The house has an old-school elegance, and it is clean and overall comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is refreshing for those hot afternoons, and the view will leave you speechless. The breakfast was tasty and satisfying (coffee, fresh juice, breads, meat, cheese, jams, fruit, yogurt, cereal). The small touches were really lovely, such as fresh cut flower arrangements and having the beds turned down at night. Though we didn't have a car, it is still accessible by train to Regua, then a 15 euro taxi ride up, up, up. We stayed 2 nights, and could have stayed at least 1 more! Our host and the other staff were incredibly kind, helpful, accommodating, and thorough. Thank you!

Joanne and team were fantastic. Clothilda's dinners were a real treat. Funky location above Regua.
