“Great dessert experience”
06 Jul 2025
The meeting point is in Merzouga, around 1600, at the edge of the dessert in a compound (we could also park our car there). From there you can be brought to the camp by car or any of the other options offered. We decided to take the camels (bags went with the car) for an hour long tour in the desert to the camp. That was an amazing experience that's well worth the money. The camp itself lies completely between the dunes, meaning that no other camp can be seen unless you go up the dune. The 8 tents are all black and have windows (which they got during our stay). They get hot during the day, but cool off enough for the night. The water pressure was also surprisingly good. We decided to take a guided 4x4 tour through the desered. Ibrahim was a great guide and we visited some unique places that you otherwise wouldn't see. We ended up at a restaurant for some berber pizza called Ibrahim as well. This was one of our best meals we had in Morocco for almost no money. We had diner at the camp twice. The food is good and has multiple courses, but it's expensive for Maroccan standards. They don't have a menu though and will serve the same food to everyone. As breakfast was also expensive, we decided to bring our own. At night they provide music around the campfire. WiFi isn't too bad and you have plenty of benches to chill at. We highly recommend 2 nights to discover the dessert. Also because you arrive late and checkout is very early!
