Hostel Overview

Recently Renovated and offering a range of events, Mad Monkey Melbourne is located 12 minutes walk from Southern Cross Station, the Skybus, train and bus terminal.
We offer FREE Wifi and FREE nightly events. Our rooftop, kitchen, and TV room create the perfect social vibe. All our dorms come with a locker and personal light and powerpoint to recharge your devices after a great day out in Melbourne. All rooms have shared bathrooms and toilet facilities. All beds come with clean linen.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Mad Monkey Family!
Please Note: Our reception is closed on December 24th and will not reopen until January 2nd. You will not be able to check in or out between these dates. Payment for all reservations made between 23rd December & 2nd of January will be taken when the booking is made and are NON REFUNDABLE. If credit card is invalid or insufficient funds you have 72 hours to update your details otherwise your booking will be cancelled.
- Cancellations within 24 hours and no shows will be charged a cancellation fee equal to one night stay. - If you cancel a Non-Refundable Rate you will still be charged the full amount of the booking, this can not be refunded or moved to a different date. - We do not accept guests under the age of 18 years old. - Prices are quoted in AUD and are subject to change daily. - Valid credit card (in the guests name) and a valid physical passport are required upon check in. - If you have made a reservation through an (online) travel agency you must cancel or modify through the agency. - The following payment methods are accepted; cash, credit or debit cards (Visa and MasterCard only). We do not accept American Express. All credit or debit cards incur a 1% payment fee. - The guest will be responsible for any loss or damage caused at the hostel by guests or visitors of guests. - $20 fee will be charged for the loss or non-return of any keys to reception upon check out. - When booking multiple beds in a shared dorm, we cannot guarantee to put people on the same booking in the same room, however we will do our best. - Guests may not consume or store food and drinks in their rooms. Any alcohol or food found in the rooms will be removed. - Smoking is only permitted within the designated smoking areas. - No E-Bike batteries are allowed on the premises

It is a small hostel which makes it easy to connect to people but that also depends on your own initiative as well, you can feel the family vibes. They have events almost every day - My luck day, I was here for the BBQ on the rooftop with fairy lights and the view to the city which was very nice actually! The rooms are getting vacuumed every day (which can be annoying when you went out - lol, but I like it rather clean). It seems out the city but turned out to be like 10-15 minutes walk from the center which was nice. The communal areas are getting cleaned twice a day as well which is important to me as many people use them. Last but not least my flight was at night on my check out day and the staff members were very helpful and they told me that I can store my luggage and still use the facilities until I leave.
