Easy check in and check out. Very close to alharam. Very good location with shops around. Friendly staff. Clean rooms and washrooms.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at Elaf Kinda. The first was back in 2019. Although it’s marketed as a 5-star hotel, I would classify it closer to a 3- or maybe 4-star property. Its main selling point is its proximity to Masjid Al Haram — it’s only a 2 to 4 minute walk away. The staff are friendly and helpful. For example, during my stay in room 416 on the fourth floor, I was attended to by a kind gentleman named Mohammed Hussain, who regularly brought me fresh towels, water, and anything else I needed. The breakfast was also of a good standard. However, I was disappointed with the dated, old furniture, the dirty fridge that wasn’t very cold, and the dirty windows (most of the grime seemed to be on the outside). I also didn’t like how much noise came through from outside, as the windows are single-glazed. Noise from the corridor was also somewhat noticeable. On the plus side, the wardrobes were spacious, but as mentioned earlier, the furniture overall was old and not very pleasing to look at. It seems the hotel is generally in worse condition now compared to 2019. I had just come from a cheaper 4-star hotel in Medina that was better in many respects, so it was disappointing to arrive at Elaf Kinda — supposedly a 5-star hotel — and not be very impressed. Another frustrating aspect is that it’s difficult for taxis to drop you off right at the hotel entrance. No cars are allowed outside as it’s a pedestrian area, which isn’t Elaf Kinda’s fault, but it does mean the taxi has to drop you off several minutes away, and you have to drag your own luggage to the hotel. However, when I was checking out, one of the managers arranged for a staff member to help us with our luggage and wheel it all the way to the taxi area. I really appreciated that — it saved us a lot of time and effort.
