We spent a magical weekend at Whipstock Farm in McGregor and returned home feeling completely refreshed and reconnected with nature. Nestled in the foothills outside the village, the farm is a haven of stillness, simplicity, and old-world charm. The accommodation is rustic but full of heart—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared with everything that we might need. We loved waking up to the sound of birdsong, sitting on the stoep with our coffee, and watching the morning light stretch across the fields and surrounding mountains. Our days were filled with gentle walks, visits to local coffee shops, and unhurried meals shared in good company. The landscape is breathtaking: rolling hills, dusty trails, crisp Karoo air, and dramatic skies—ideal for those looking to slow down and soak up the soul of the countryside. The hosts were welcoming and relaxed, giving us space to just be, while still making us feel like treasured guests. Whipstock Farm is the kind of place that lingers with you long after you’ve left. If you’re looking for a digital detox, a creative reset, or quality time with loved ones in a beautiful, honest setting—this is it.
