Everything! The host and her mother have got a great ryokan on their hands here. They have thought of everything and it was the most comfortable I felt on the trip (that could have been the onsen too haha). And the breakfast was to die for!!

I stayed with son for two nights. We booked it as we wanted to try traditional Japanese style hotel. It was very new experience for us, especially using the communal onsen. But we both liked it. It was a bit confusion with the separate slippers which we had to use in the bathroom and couple of time I forgot to change them. Sorry for that! The owners, old lady and her daughter did a great job! We had booked bus to National park at 5.30am and couldn't book taxi for that early time , so the daughter of the owner has offered to take us to the bus station . We are very appreciated for this help, otherwise we would have to walk for 45 min. Everything was clean , including sharing bathroom and onsen, I wish we had more time to stay here and explore Matsumoto.
