The location as central to matlock, 15mins walk into town, we liked friendly welcome, being on the same level as our friends so we was all close together, bed comfortable, 11am check out was great as some places are 9.30am or 10am so that extra time in the room we liked, big enough rooms and all ensuite, parking is great, enough spaces for all. We didn't use the bar or restaurant so cannot comment on the quality of this. All in all a fabulous stay.

The staff were lovely and the size of the 4 bed room was fantastic, as I have teenage boys. They loved it. The room we were in was fine for the duration and somewhat smaller. The guys who was on service was a lovely chap and was bending over backward to help out if asked. The hotel has a lovely feel to it and has been taken over by new management this year 2025, So there's room for improvement, but I would definitely go there again, if the opportunity arose. It's a beautiful hotel inside and a restful place to visit. The hotel is in Matlock Bath and although on the outskirts, is in an ideal place for families wanting to visit lots of places with kids. There are lots of places to eat nearby in Matlock and Matlock Bath, it is well placed for Chatsworth house and other places too. It was easy to navigate to on Google Maps which made life much easier too. The property is very well decorated and it looks fantastic inside. I loved the auqrium and fish in reception.

Room was acceptable, bed was extremely comfortable and very large! Excellent shower with horizontal jets as well as the usual top rose. Breakfast was also acceptable but see downsides below! Staff (one poor guy who looked a bit stressed!) very polite and friendly but again see downsides. Great location, although the "room with mountain view" was a little over-described when the view was in fact the car park and a cliff opposite! Altogether though, worth the money!

Breakfast was poor. Waited a long time for food when it finally arrived it was cold. No cups for tea or coffee. A few guests walked out
