Our host Massimo was so helpful with restaurant recommendations and suggestions on what to see and do in Matera. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean. And the view is amazing! The breakfast was delicious and Massimo was available for any information we needed for car parking. We loved our stay and will definitely return!

A beautifully situated former convent and generational family home with only three suites with stunning views of Matera at day and night. Our room was lovely with gorgeous views and an enormous bathroom. Unfortunately we didn’t get to use the lovely garden because it was cold and wet at the time. Owner and host Massimo is charming and has wonderful stories to share including celebrity guests who have filmed in this extraordinary town. Could have stayed longer. Just to note it’s not the easiest place to find but when you get there it is - and incredibly convenient with views, sites and great restaurants all around.

The location is amazing, right in the heart of Sasso Barisano. Beautiful views up to the cathedral and across the valley. Easy walking distance (with not too many stairs!) of restaurants and bars, and just a pretty 10mins walk (flat!) to the Sasso Caveoso where you can explore the cave homes and churches. The beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast was lovely with good variety and fresh cooked eggs. Massimo was a very welcoming host. We had a wonderful time.
